We are situated within the grounds of Donington on Bain Primary School: www.dobprimary.co.uk, although we remain an independent and autonomous setting. We work primarily from a large open planned and well equipped classroom and we are lucky enough to have the use of a large wooded, leafy garden space and also a spacious playground area.
Children have access to these areas at all times through the use of 'free flow' play.
We are a committee run preschool and as such, actively encourage our parents and carers to join and participate in fund raising events and decision making meetings.
As a preschool we follow the guidelines of the 'Early Years Foundation Stage' and the ages and stages of our children and the progress they make are tracked using the statements from the Government document 'Development Matters' and this progress is tracked and recorded using the online system Tapestry, which is accessed by staff and parents alike.
At lunchtime we go through to the main school hall of the Primary school where children can either eat a packed lunch from home or a hot school meal is available to order in advance via the Primary school.
The preschool is run by a highly qualified and experienced team of practitioners. The Manager is herself a qualified Teacher who is an active member of the team who spends the majority of her time with the children. All staff are level 3 or above and all children are allocated 1 of these members of staff as their designated keyworker.
Anybody wishing to visit the Preschool, to see us in action and to find out more about us, is more than welcome. Please see our contact details for how to get in touch.
